Paul is 25 and works as a teacher in his home village of Dornbach. He is uncertain about his future and simply drinks away all his doubts with his friends. The morning after the village festival, he wakes up with a blackout and a bloody T-shirt. When he learns that a dead body has been found on the grounds, he begins to doubt his memories. The dead man was his girlfriend Isabella’s ex-boyfriend, and he has fragmentary memories of flames, arguments, and blood. Could he himself have been the perpetrator? Detective Anita also comes from Dornbach, and she returns to the village rather reluctantly to investigate. She knows cliques like Paul’s and his friends Heiliger and Pia only too well. Together with her colleague Mike, she tries to shed light on the case without awakening her own demons.
